Tuscany Like is Fabio Petrucci. He looks after five historic houses in the hills around Pisa and lets them, whole, to one party at a time — and he is the person who answers when you write.

That is the whole of it. There is no reception, no agency desk and no call centre; the houses are not a portfolio, they are five buildings he knows room by room, and he has been letting them for fifteen years.

Fabio restored these houses and runs them himself. He answers the enquiry, meets you at the gate, and is on the end of a telephone while you are here — which is the part guests remember, and the part a larger operation cannot promise.

How he came to have five houses

We introduce. We do not sell their work.

A cook for one evening, a driver from the airport, a table at an estate that does not take walk-ins: we are glad to make the introduction, and we have worked with these people for years.

But they are independent businesses. They agree the work and the price with you and they invoice you directly. Their fees never form part of the price of a house.

What we introduce you to
Cooks, drivers, florists, photographers, wine estates and wedding planners. Independent, chosen carefully, paid by you.

Questions we are asked

Do you sell catering, tours or transfers?

No. We are happy to put you in touch with cooks, drivers, florists and wine estates we have worked with for years. They are independent businesses: they agree the work and the price with you, and they invoice you directly. We take no margin and no commission, and their fees are never part of the price of the house.

Who am I contracting with when I book a house?

With the property itself, for the rental of the whole house. That contract covers the building, its grounds and the services our own staff perform — housekeeping, the pool, the linen. Nothing else.

Can I rent a room rather than a house?

No. All five houses are let whole, to one party, with nobody else on site.

How many houses are there?

Five: Lungomonte above Asciano Pisano, Ravano at the foot of Monte Pisano, and Guardavalle, Cevoli and Donna Camilla south in the Colline Pisane. Each has its own site, its own rates and its own calendar.

Can you help with a wedding?

All five take events, and Villa Ravano has a consecrated chapel opened for guests marrying there. Fabio has run a good many weddings and will tell you honestly what each house holds, and introduce you to the planners and suppliers who know it — but the arrangements are made between you and them.
